Middle Eastern Meatball Sandwich with Cucumber Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients
MEATBALLS
1 pound 95% lean ground beef
½ onion, finely chopped
1 egg
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon parsely, minced
1 teaspoon turmeric
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
YOGURT SAUCE
2 cup plain greek yogurt
½ cup cucumber, skins removed and diced
2 teaspoon dill
1 garlic clove, mince
½ shallot, minced
salt/pepper to taste
Pita, lettuce and tomato for serving
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
For the meatballs. In a large bowl, add all meatball ingredients and mix with hands to combine. Form meat into 1 inch balls. Place on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven for 15-17 minutes.
While meatballs are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce. In a medium mixing bowl add all yogurt ingredients and mix to combine.
To assemble. Place lettuce tomato, 3-4 meatballs and top with yogurt sauce.
