Boy or girl?!
It’s a GIRL!
We knew we wanted to know the gender and the sooner the better so we opted to find out. Thanks to a lab test done at my first OB appointment we were able to find out the gender around 12 weeks. When the lab test came back I had the nurse send us a email message so my husband and I could open the email together. To our surprise and excitement the message said we were having a BABY GIRL! Which if you know my husbands family you know the likelihood is small to none. He is one of three boys and out of his 9 cousins, there is only 1 girl! So after having a boy I figured we would only be having boys. Although we both secretly wanted a girl, I didn’t have my hopes up. So needless to say I had to read that message like 10 times before I believed it!
We decided to keep the news quiet until we could share it with our family at a cookout at my moms house that was already planned for the weekend. I made cupcakes filled with pink frosting and decorated with the letters B or G. We had everyone pick out a cupcake based on what they thought the gender was, lets say there were more G’s than B’s taken. Then everyone took a bite at the same time! My mom won for more entusiastic reaction when she found out, she obviously was really hoping for a girl. Everyone else was equally excited and surprised!
The little guy had no idea what was going on but fully enjoyed eating the top of the cupcake 😉 . He is 100% a frosting> cake kid!
