I’ve been on a gingerbread kick this past week and have been baking up gingerbread everything including muffins and cookies for holiday parties and events. There is just something about gingerbread that reminds me of Christmas and the Holiday Season and it’s just so yummy! Since I was baking a ton and using the same spices for everything I decided to put together a spice blend that I could easily add to baked goods or to my oatmeal and coffee in the morning. This spice blend is not only easy to make for yourself but would also make a great DIY Holiday gift for friends, family and co-workers. Simply mix together 2 tablespoons of ground ginger and cinnamon plus 1 tablespoon of ground all spice, cloves and nutmeg and place in a jar or airtight container.
Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of the mixture to baked goods like muffins, pancakes or cookies. Or sprinkle some over your oatmeal, coffee, yogurt, ice cream or egg nog! The options are endless.
