Did you know that lean meat can be a healthy part of a balanced diet? If you choose to eat meat, lean cuts of beef like 95% lean ground beef, sirloin, and tenderloin roast are not only low in fat but a great source of protein.

Eating a source of protein of approximately 20-30 grams at each meal and snack has been shown to assist with weight management by inducing satiety and controlling appetite. Animal and meat protein contain different amino acids and nutrients, all of which are essential in maintaining health. Eating a variety of animal and plant based protein sources has been shown to help meet dietary needs for a variety of nutrients.

My Middle Eastern meatballs are  packed with  29 grams of protein from 95% lean ground beef, Greek yogurt and whole wheat pita. This protein packed lunch will help keep you full and satisfied, preventing you from over eating later in the day. These lean meatballs are flavored with Middle Eastern spices and herbs from turmeric, cumin and parsley. For added moisture and flavor I topped the meatballs with a refreshing cucumber dill yogurt sauce. The flavor combination can’t be beat.  Enjoy on a whole wheat pita for a perfect lunch or quick dinner.
