So after three months off from all things work after having our 3rd child I’m back! And to celebrate my return I have rounded up all of my families favorite recipes from my blog. These are all recipes that my kids love and we eat in our house regularly. So I promise they will not disappoint!
I also have some fun news to share… I am starting a new monthly series to get you and your kids exploring new foods, and cooking more together. Each month we will go through the alphabet exploring a new food. I will be sharing fun facts, tips, tricks, activities and recipes using this new food! May starts off our first month of this series with the Letter A! Any guesses on what the food might be?….Stay tuned I will be starting things off next week!
For now enjoy cooking up these recipes!
This recipe is a weekly staple in our house. I often make a big batch and save leftovers for snacks or another breakfast later that week. This recipe is great to get your kids involved in making with you in the morning and can be custimaized by adding in different mix in’s or ingredients to change their color!
Healthy Smoothie Recipes for Kids
Another breakfast staple we have at least 1-2 times a week. We often tend to have a couple different versions but there are so many ways you can switch up the smoothie using your favorite ingredients or whatever you have in your kitchen. I put together a whole blog post on healthy smoothie ideas, because we love them so much!
Healthy Banana Blueberry Muffins
This is my go-to muffin recipe. The kids love helping to make them and we often pair them with milk or yogurt for a quick breakfast.
Homemade Maple Cinnamon Granola
or
Olive Oil Honey Granola with Sliced Almonds
Homemade granola is a staple in our house for topping yogurt, smoothies or just eating by the handful!
Spicy Ramen Soup with Soba Noodles
My son is a huge Ramen fan and this recipe fits the bill and it take less than 30-minutes to make! And like most kids my son and daughter are not spicy food fans (yet anyways!). This recipe can be easily adjusted for those who are not big spicy food fans.
Slow Cooker Homemade Meatballs and Sauce
This recipe is a family recipe that I have been enjoying all of my life! It’s super easy to make and always turns our delicious. I love to make a big batch of meatballs eat it once with pasta, another night as a meatball sub and then freeze the leftovers for an easy meal a few weeks later.
If your kiddos are just getting into lentils and beans this is your way in! I’m always surprised by what my son will and won’t eat and this is one recipe I was definitely unsure of but he and my daughter love it. I serve it with basmati rice and naan and they gobble it right up every time!
Easy Instant Pot (or Slow Cooker) BBQ Pulled Chicken
Looking for a throw a couple ingredients into the pot recipe in under 2 min? This recipe is for you! You can use the chicken to top a salad, on a bun for a sandwich or mix into mac and cheese.
This is another easy dinner idea that requires only 1 pot and less than 30 minutes of time!
Instant Pot (or Slow Cooker) Chicken Chili with Vegetables
One of my favorite slow cooker recipes that I can put together in the morning and have ready for dinner that night. This is one recipe my son has been hot/cold on. Mixed dishes are a hard sell with toddlers! But he has been more open to it with a side of chips for dipping!
Instant Pot (or Slow Cooker) Chicken Salsa
Another 2 min prep and let cook recipe. We love using this salsa chicken in tacos, on top nachos or in burrito bowls.
Slow Cooker Pesto Minestrone Soup
When you are in the mood for a vegetarian soup, this one is a winner! The pesto in this recipe takes the soup to a whole new level and I love that it makes plenty for leftovers or feeding a crowd.
One Pan Salmon, Asparagus and Sweet Potato
One pan and dinner is cooked and ready in 30 minutes! This recipe is weekly go to in my house and one I know everyone will enjoy and not make a fuss about. To switch things up from week to week I will change the vegetables (green beans, brussle sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower work well too) or roasted fingerling potatoes instead of sweet potatoes for less food prep!
This is by far one of the most popular recipes on my blog it’s basically tuna mix into guacamole and it’s delicious and really easy to put together. I love it on top of salad, in a wrap or as a dip with chips.
My favorite part of this recipe is the coconut curry sauce! It make a delicious dressing for just about any salad or marinade on chicken or shrimp.
A kid favorite for sure! They are as fun as they are to make as they are to eat. Top bananas with peanut butter or yogurt (or a mixture of both) and sprinkle on your favorite toppings like chocolate chips, sprinkles, chia or hemp seeds. The hardest part is waiting for them to freeze! I find they work the best with over-ripe bananas.
Blender Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Bars
Another weekly staple in our house are then blender bars. And as the name suggest you make them in a blender! Add all the ingredients (except the chocolate chips) blend, mix in the chocolate chips and bake! You can easily make this recipe in a muffin tin as well.
No-Bake Peanut Butter Protein Balls
Another easy recipe that requires little time, because there is no baking required. You can roll the mixture into balls or press it into an 8×8 baking sheet lined with parchment paper, let harden in the fridge or freezer then cut into bars.
Peanut Butter Chickpea Cookies with Chocolate Chunks
Looking for a cookie with a little added nutrition boost? These cookies are fun and nourishing snack and dessert we enjoy often in our home. The chickpeas not only add some extra protein and fiber but make these cookies extra moist and buttery.
Cranberry White Chocolate Cookies with Cranberries and Pecans
These cookies are my sons favorite! Take a simple oatmeal raisin cookie then add a fun spin with dried cranberries, white chocolate chips and pecans! What could be more delicious?!
